Prof. Somnath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, emphasized Haryana’s vital role in strengthening India’s economy at the joint conference with Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, stressing the urgent need for skill development and value-based education to empower youth for a self-reliant Bharat.

At the International Conference jointly organized by Kurukshetra University and Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, Prof. Somnath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, spoke powerfully about Haryana’s role in building a stronger Indian economy. He highlighted a real challenge many don't talk enough about — people without jobs, jobs without skilled people, and sometimes, the wrong people in the wrong jobs. Prof. Sachdeva shared that while only a small percentage of employment comes from government and corporate sectors, over 62% of jobs in India are created through self-employment. He made a strong case for why skill development and value-based education are critical for India's future. Proudly, he shared that Kurukshetra University was the first in India to fully implement the National Education Policy 2020. His message was clear: Empower the youth with the right skills, values, and education — and the dream of a prosperous, self-reliant Bharat is within reach.
